I am quite intrigued by the idea you can use an air-pop popcorn maker
to roast coffee beans. I've had a cheap proctor-silex sitting in my
cabinet for years that doesn't make very good popcorn, but what I've
read here in the group MIGHT make a good coffee roast.
It is one of those that heats up and has kind of a cup fan on the
inside where blades are on the sides and it spins as it heats up. I
saw some 'green bean' websites, but how do you know when it's done?
ANSWER:
So, I just want to add that roasting coffee beans at home is a lot easier
than it is.
How well you should roast your coffee beans? Well, that's the beauty of
home roasting, you decide how dark or how light your beans to be. If you
have seen your favorite roasted coffee beans, I would start from that
darkness for that type of coffee beans. Different type of beans will roast
at slightly different scale of darkness.
